Global News. Trusted Stories. We are a global digital newsroom built around one idea: coverage of Africa and the Horn that is as serious, fast and carefully sourced as coverage of anywhere else.

SomTiger International was founded in 2024 by reporters and editors who had spent their careers between African newsrooms and international wire services. We publish in English, with Somali and Arabic editions of our interface, and we report from bureaux in Mogadishu, Nairobi, Lagos, Accra, London, Lisbon, Dubai and Singapore.

What we cover

Eleven desks: World, Somalia, Africa, Politics, Business, Technology, Science, Sports, Culture, Opinion and Video. Each desk is edited independently, and our Opinion pages operate separately from the newsroom.

How we are funded

Reader subscriptions, advertising and syndication. We publish our advertising standards on the Advertise page, and no commercial partner sees editorial content before publication.
